‘It’s Been Fun’ is a pop-soul, jazz-infused single from Stone Fruit, influenced by artists like Olivia Dean, Lianne La Havas, Jorja Smith, Emily King and Cleo Sol. The track explores a relationship that’s reached its natural end, focusing on warmth and emotional honesty rather than heartbreak. Lyrics such as “keep all the memories” and “I did enjoy every moment” reflect the idea that love shared is never wasted. Musically, jazz-pop guitars, warm vocals, melodic bass, gentle keys and subtle strings, create an uplifting sound that blends contemporary production with vintage influences. The song marks a more organic direction for the band, with spacious production that keeps the story front and centre. The song was recorded in NW London.

‘Hold me close’ is our third EP release. When we write songs, we are allowing ourselves to be guided by our current state of mind and the way that we are experiencing music, instead of worrying about the final result or sticking into a specific genre.
There is bottomless discovery, storytelling, and enjoyment to be found in exploring and combining new sounds and styles. This has become our mantra over the past releases and this EP is no different.
Additionally, in this EP we wanted to record more organic sounds, where the human element is dominant, and we had the pleasure to collaborate with some amazing musicians that are featured in three of the songs. Owen Smalley, (Guitar) Alex Bramwell (Bass) and Argyris Thomoglou (Drums) have been a breath of fresh air and brought new life to what was born in our home studio.
Although all the songs live in a very similar space, they highlight different musings about what is happening around us. In a year haunted by the pandemic, our emotional state as human beings was changing rapidly from one day to the next. We had the privilege to integrate all our emotions and thoughts, whether they were melancholic or joyful in the lyrics, instrumentation, and trajectory of each song. We hope that the listeners can come on a journey with us, interpret the songs in their own way and give them new meaning.
Saturated in soul, finessed with funk and jewelled with jazz, the new EP ‘Hold Me Close’ from Stone Fruit is a hidden gem in the cross genre realm.

Stone Fruit is an independent London-based duo made up of Valentini and Lef, songwriters, producers, and long-time collaborators. Born out of friendship, the project reflects a shared desire to create music that feels intimate, timeless, and contemporary, yet unmistakably their own.
Genre-fluid at its core, Stone Fruit’s sound weaves together soul, pop, R&B, jazz, and electronic influences. Warm vocals and lush arrangements meet emotionally resonant storytelling, drawing comparisons to artists such as Olivia Dean, Amber Mark, Lianne La Havas, Jorja Smith, Emily King, Cleo Sol, and Lake Street Dive.
Since 2019, Stone Fruit has released three EPs, earning praise from both fans and critics. They have performed across London’s live scene, including a standout Sofar Sounds performance, and are increasingly focused on bringing their music to life on stage.
Currently, the duo is writing and exploring new sonic directions as they work towards their next album, scheduled for release in October 2026.
